If you want a couple of shortcuts to building your business, this episode is for you. As I'm recording this episode, we'll be heading to Las Vegas for a little bit of fun and of course a little bit of business. But I'm not going to gamble because the odds are always against you in gambling, and they're really against you now because they're doing 6'5 blackjack and automatic shufflers and uh triple zero roulette and all sorts of things. And it's it's fine. I mean, if you want to gamble, gamble, it's just not my thing anymore. But gambling is what built that city, kind of like the uh the once-in-a-lifetime lottery syndrome is what built that city. Like people go knowing the odds are stacked against them that they'll probably lose money, but there's a small chance they'll win it big. And I've been reading some articles that said people are going there for other reasons, including myself. I'm not going to gamble, but I'm going there for other reasons because there's so much other things to do. Everything from museums to even a lot of free attractions to hiking, to there's the the Hoover Dam, there's a lot of shows, there are a lot of restaurants. I mean, there's so many even free things to do in Las Vegas that gambling is almost secondary. Now, for some people, that's their primary reason to go, but there's so much other things to do. But guess what? They all take money. Even if you're doing free activities, you still gotta have money. You still have to have a place to stay, you still have to eat, you still have to, even if you're local, you still have to park somewhere. Like all everything takes money in that city. And when we arrive, there's probably gonna be 130 to 150 people on that airplane, and everybody's gonna be doing something different. People are gonna be staying at different locations. Some people are gonna gamble, some people are gonna go to attraction, some people are gonna go to the hotel, some many people are everyone's gonna go their different directions. But guess what? Every single person on that airplane has a plan when they arrive. They at least know for the first couple hours, they at least know the first thing that they're gonna do when they arrive. Are they gonna take a taxi, an Uber, a bus, a friend's gonna pick them up, and they know at least the first thing that they're going to go to? They're not just gonna arrive and just sit there and then figure it out. Like they at least know the first thing they're gonna do when they first arrive. And I've used this example at events because most people they don't have a plan. They don't have a plan for their business. They don't know what they're gonna do with their first hundred or the first 500 or the first thousand or sometimes even their first ten thousand dollars that they earn. Even if we just start small, the first fifty dollars, maybe you got a retail bonus or a fast track start bonus or what whatever, sponsored a couple people, an extra $50 or $100 comes in, direct deposit or check. What are you gonna do? If you just leave it in the bank, it's completely useless. Are you gonna use it to pay off credit card debt? Are you gonna go out to dinner? Are you gonna you know uh save it for a specific item or a specific event? You have to have a plan. Or what's gonna happen is you're not gonna get there. You're not gonna not gonna even get on that plane if you don't have a plan. You're not gonna get on the the airplane of our business. I'm not sure if that's a good word picture, but either way, you have to have a plan at least to start. So, shortcut number one is we're all different. Figure out why you really want to build a business. Even if you want to aim big and then trim it down to start small. You want to start small to increase your mindset, however, it works. Figure out why you're really wanting to build a business. There are so many different resources. I'll give you a couple of pay resources. We have the top 1% book. We talk about the emotional reason to build your business. We have the why your goals are not working book, audio, ebook, everything as well. And that kind of goes with your color personality, kind of figure out your color personality, and really tailor your goals towards your personality. Or here's a free hack. If money wasn't an object, what would you actually do all day? And some people say, Well, I would just race sports cars all day. Okay, cool. What could you do at the very beginning? Maybe you could turn a car or rent a car that is your dream car to see if that's something you really enjoy, or you want to hang out with the grandkids all day and have a beach house or a swimming pool where you can have all the grandkids over. Okay, great. Is there something that you could Airbnb for a weekend? Or is there a really nice hotel where you can see how that works? Or is it just getting out of debt so you don't have to pull your hair out at the end of the month or at the beginning of the month or whenever you pay your bills? Okay, great, let's let's do the snowball method, or however you want to pay off your debt. Is it spending time with your kids so you know that if you earn a little bit of money, you can take out some of the extra hours, or when you have the free time, you actually have the spending money. You have to figure out why you're working this business, the emotional reason, whether you use the emotional reason for it to build your business, whether you tailor it to your goals and your color personality, or is it just what would you actually do all day if money wasn't the object? And that's really going to start the goal process. One of the things that I love about this business, and I was on a team, Zoom, or a team invited me to be on their Zoom the other week, and they kind of asked, you know, what is the best part about this business? I said, Well, really the best part of the the best part for most people is that you're not trading time for money. So most people, you work 40 hours, you get paid for the 40 hours, you want to earn more, you have to work more, you have to spend more of your time, you have to trade more time for more money. This is really not new information for most people. But in our business, if we just invest a little bit of time, so if you work 40 hours at your job, spend an extra hour a week, spend an extra hour a day, spend a specific time on a regular basis learning some skills, and most importantly, putting those skills to use. And it pays off, it actually compounds your income. Just like the stock market, we had Tony Mealy on, I guess that was probably three or four episodes ago, and you just start small. Start small, invest in a mutual fund, an index fund, an ETF or whatever it is, set and forget it, and it grows. Same in our business. We invest a little bit of money, a little bit of time to learn a skill, implement the skill, and it starts to compound with our other skills. It starts to compound with our income, it starts to compound with our team building, it starts to compound with your total income. So shortcut number two is invest some time and money into some skills that give people options in their life. They the timing may not be right, they may not be qualified to build a business. And it's crazy that I've been getting paid on someone I sponsored 30, well actually now over 30 years ago. My presentation was horrible, but I had rapport. I led with solving their problem, not my agenda. And if you ever want to grow your business faster, it's pretty simple. Just get more skills. Stop waiting to be perfect. Some will join for who you are. If you lead with solving their problems, if you lead with their agenda, if you lead with what they need, not about us. Right now, there are three types of people listening to this episode. Some have zero skills, and I get it. We've all we've all started with zero skills. We have some people skills and other skills, but as far as network marketing specific skills, some of us have zero skills. We've all started there, we've all been there. A free resource, and I talk about it a lot, is the Happy Network Marketer ebook. You can buy the paperback book and get the the audio, that's great. But if you just want a free resource, the happy network marketer ebook is available for everybody. Or if you want to amp it up a little bit, we have the Core Skills Audio Pack, which is $29.95. But start with something, and you'll learn exactly what to say, what to do right away. The second type of person that's listening to the episode is someone that has a few skills, but they're afraid of talking to people. Well, then you probably just got to work on your mindset. Yes, we do have the mindset series, but here's here's a free short hack as well. Is think about what's the absolute worst thing can happen if I talk to somebody? What's the worst thing that can happen? And if it sounds really bad, like, oh no, they're they're gonna unfriend me or they're going to be angry, well, then we probably got to look at what we're saying. But most of the time, they just say no, or uh time is not right or not right now. That's most of the time, if we're saying the right things, that's the worst thing that can happen. But then flip it around. What is the best thing that can happen if we just give them the option, whether it's product, service, or opportunity? The best thing that can happen is, well, they they sign up or they become a distributor, they built a team, or they become a leader, they they tap into another couple thousand people that we don't know because it's not who we know, it's who they know. Like things can explode, and it's way more exciting, it's way more powerful versus what's the worst that can happen. Do you guys think the worst that can happen? It's probably not that bad. The best thing can happen, the possibilities are endless. And the third type of person that's listening to the episode is they know all the skills, they go to all the events, they read all the books, and they're still waiting for the right time to talk to somebody. Well, guess what? We've all fallen into that trap one day or another, at the beginning or at the middle, or when we plateaued, or we went to management mode, we've we've all done it. Here's something you could do right now. You could text out an icebreaker question to 20 of your contacts right now. And if that question leads with their agenda and focuses on solving a problem they may have, I guarantee you you'll get at least one positive response. Now, again, that's if that icebreaker question leads with focusing on solving a problem, leads with giving them an option. We have to text out the right thing. Now, is that the best way to build your business? Absolutely not. But I guarantee you, if you text out the right thing to 20 people, you're gonna get at least one positive response, more likely three or four. That takes less than two minutes to do. If you really want to customize it, which you really should, it'll take less than 10 minutes to do. The reality is, most people have the skills and they're waiting for perfection. Well, guess what? We will never be perfect. And if you are perfect, don't tell anyone because they'll wait for themselves to be perfect. So if you could do me a favor and figure out do I need to learn some skills, or do I have the skills and I could put something into action right now, whether it's texting 20 contacts right now, or reaching out via messenger, or reaching out via phone, or reaching out via Zoom, or reaching out to the people that you're in contact for the next 24 hours, do something for you and your business and stop waiting to be perfect. As always, I hope you receive value in this episode. If you know somebody that could use this content, please share it with them. But more importantly, looking forward to sharing another episode with another successful networker next week.
